Artist, Daniel K. Tennant is a graduate of Syracuse University with a BFA in painting (magna cum laude) and an MS in art education. In 1994 Tennant received the "Outstanding Airbrush Teacher of the Year Award" by American Artist Magazine. In 2003 he was an honorable mention winner in The Artist's Magazine international art competition. The competition garnered over 13,000 entries with only 30 prizes being awarded. His book, Realistic Painting has sold 35,000 copies. Tennant's work has appeared in 18 magazine articles including American Artist Magazine, Watercolor Magazine, The Artist's Magazine, Airbrush Art and Action, American Arts Quarterly, World Magazine and Airbrush Magazine. Also, his work has appeared in ten books and book cover illustrations, calendars and limited edition and giclée prints. The artist's work has been exhibited at the New Britain Museum of American Art (New Britain CT), the Everson Art Museum, Lowe Art Center (Syracuse University), the Delaware Museum of Art, Savannah College of Art and Design, the Palmer Museum of Art (Penn State), The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Anthony Brunelli Fine Arts Gallery (Binghamton, NY), Gallery Henoch (New York), Bernarducci-Meisel Gallery ( New York), Art Chicago 2004, Art Miami 96, The Springfield Museum of Art, M.A. Doran Gallery (Tulsa, OK), The Arnot Art Museum, Eleanor Ettinger Art Gallery (New York), Louis K. Meisel Gallery (New York), Louis Newman Gallery (Hollywood), The Butler Institute of American Art and many other venues. Tennant's work is in the collections of Radio Shack, Inc, Louis K. Meisel, Frank Bernarducci, Bernarducci-Meisel Gallery, Anthony Brunelli, MONY, Winchester Repeating Arms, The Zimmerman Collection as well as many private collections both here and abroad. Tennant is one of the very few fine artists in the country who uses gouache (opaque watercolors) as his sole medium. His work is done on a larger scale.
